Insert tab
The Insert tab has one section, Charts. Its three buttons turn the selected column into a chart column: the values of the column are drawn as small charts inside the cells instead of as numbers.
| Button | Result |
|---|---|
| Bar Chart | Each cell shows a bar from the middle line to the value, with the value written next to it. |
| Waterfall | Each cell shows a bar from where the running total stood to where it ends up, with connector lines to the neighbouring bars. |
| Needle | Each cell shows a thin line from the middle line to the value, a marker at its tip, and the value beyond it. |

Details
- The buttons are greyed out until a column is selected ("select a column first" in the hover text).
- The column keeps its name, position and every other setting; only the way its values are drawn changes. To go back, use Remove Chart in the Chart tab or in the column's right-click menu.
- A new chart column starts as wide as its labels and bars need (a plain measure column is often too narrow). A column that has a width of its own - set by hand or by Set Width > Auto - keeps it. Default chart column width otherwise: 160 px.
- As soon as the column is a chart column it is selected, and the Chart tab appears with its options.
- A chart column can also be created from the column's right-click menu: Insert > Bar Chart / Needle Chart / Waterfall Chart. That works on a group header or on several selected columns too (all columns under it / in the selection).
- To switch a chart column to another type, use Change chart in the Chart tab.
- The tooltips of the chart cells can be switched off in the Chart tab (Settings > Tooltips).
