Spacing panel
Open it with View tab > Spacing > Spacing. The button looks pressed while the panel is open.

spacing-panel.png- the panel with its two groups and five fields.
Every setting is a whole number of pixels with a - button, a field and a + button. Typing in the field is saved and shown
in the table after a short moment, so entering 12 does not redraw the table once for the 1 and again for the 12. The -
and + buttons change the value by one pixel at once. An entry that is not a number of 0 or more is not taken, and the field
shows the saved value again when you leave it. Rest the mouse on the (i) next to a name to read what it does.
Columns
| Setting | What it does | Without a template |
|---|---|---|
| Columns | The space between two neighbouring columns. | 4 |
| Groups | The space between groups of columns (the years, the quarters of a year, ...) and after the row-label column. It replaces the Columns space there. 0 means "use the Columns space". | 0 |
Rows
| Setting | What it does | Without a template |
|---|---|---|
| Rows | The space between two neighbouring rows. | 0 |
| Cell padding | Extra room above and below the text of every row. | 0 |
| Indent | How far each level of the row hierarchy is pushed in from the one above it. | 20 |
Notes
- The last column is the value a report has when no template was ever picked (a report saved long ago). A new visual starts with the Default template, which sets Columns to 0; Finance uses 4, Grid 0. Picking a template sets all five values at once; after that these fields are in charge.
- The panel shows the saved values. If something else changes them while it is open - Reset, Undo, a template - it redraws.
- It closes when you leave Focus Mode or open another panel.
