Limitations

Not available yet​

  • Bookmarks. The visual does not save its own view state in a Power BI bookmark yet. What you set is saved with the report (see Saving), not per bookmark.
  • Charts in files. The bar, waterfall and needle charts are not exported or copied: Export to Excel, Export to PDF and Export to Clipboard carry the number a chart column shows, not the chart.
  • Free version. Without a license some features are limited or locked (one conditional formatting rule, one chart column, the first 25 rows of an export, ...). See License.

Needs Power BI to allow it​

  • Downloads. Excel and PDF export need the Power BI setting that allows custom visuals to download files (see the Export tab).
  • Drill control. Under Full Loading the visual switches Power BI's drill off, so the drill buttons are not available. If a Power BI host cannot switch drilling off, the visual works around it.
  • Focus Mode button. The Settings button opens Focus Mode only on hosts that allow a visual to do that.

Power BI features the visual does not use yet​

Keyboard focus for Power BI's own navigation, sync slicers, highlighting from other visuals, selecting several visuals together, a landing page for an empty visual.

Sorting​

Sort Ascending / Descending in the column menu hand the sort to Power BI. A header that has no field to sort by - the Total, a chart column - cannot be sorted.
